1. Roka (Engagement):

  • The bride’s family presents gifts, sweets, and sometimes jewelry to the groom.

2. Sagai (Ring Ceremony):

  • The Sagai is a formal engagement ceremony where the bride and groom exchange rings in the presence of family and friends.
  • The bride’s family hosts the event and offers gifts, clothes, and sweets to the groom’s family.

3. Mehndi Ceremony:

  • The Mehndi ceremony is a festive event where the bride’s hands and feet are adorned with intricate henna designs.
  • Female relatives and friends also apply Mehndi, and the event is accompanied by music, dance, and celebrations.

4. Sangeet:

  • The Sangeet is a musical celebration hosted by the bride’s family. It involves singing, dancing, and performances by family and friends.
  • The bride’s side often prepares special dances or skits to entertain the guests.

5. Haldi Ceremony:

  • The Haldi ceremony involves applying a paste of turmeric, sandalwood, and other ingredients to the bride’s skin. This is believed to purify and beautify her for the wedding.
  • Close family members participate in applying the Haldi paste.

Wedding Day Rituals (Bride’s Side)

6. Baraat Welcome:

  • The groom arrives at the wedding venue with his family and friends in a procession called the Baraat.

7. Kanyadaan:

10. Vidaai (Farewell):

  • Vidaai is an emotional moment where the bride bids farewell to her family and leaves for her new home with the groom.
  • The bride throws rice or coins over her shoulder, symbolizing her gratitude and repayment of her parents’ love and care.
